In the hinterland between Strahan and Lake St Clair National Park lie the four iconic towns of Zeehan, Rosebery, Tullah and Queenstown. These towns hold unique secret treasures that will capture every visitor's heart.

Strahan is a fascinating village resplendent with stories and during your Strahan holiday you will be sure to create many of your own. Begin your Western Wilderness adventure here by finding your perfect Strahan Accommodation.

Strahan began in the 1850's as a tent store that supplied explorers and timbercutters and in 1883 was declaed a town and named in honour of the then Tasmanian Governor, Sir George Strachan.

Zeehan inherited its Dutch sounding name from Abel Tasman's brig. Once known as ‘Silver City' for its rich silver and lead deposits, Zeehan is now a fisherman's paradise, rich in trout and crayfish.

Rosebery is famous as the childhood home of the author Richard Flanagan making Rosebery wealthy in both mind and ore. You will be equally awed by the underground mines and by Tasmania's highest waterfall Montezuma Falls.

Tullah - Find a scenic spot to stay on the shores of Lake Rosebery and try a guided sea kayak tour. The kids will love the 1.6km trip on the 'Wee Georgie Wood' steam locomotive that leaves from the centre of town.

Queenstown is steeped in history yet maintains an aura of unique adventure. Take an eco tour of the rehabilitation on the mined hills that overlook the town. From Queenstown the unique West Coast Wilderness Railway will take you on a wondrous journey to the port of Strahan.
